What is the MAZDA Service Schedule?

Mazda Service
When you purchase a new Mazda, one of the leading contributors to your car’s ensured longevity is the regularly scheduled maintenance. Sticking to a normal regimen and performing simple maintenance services on time goes much further than you think. Your Mazda service schedule includes several different tasks, including oil changes, transmission flushes, checking plug wires, routinely topping off fluids, and checking other important points on your vehicle.

Moon Township Mazda is always available for Aliquippa drivers who wish to schedule service, but it’s still important to be aware of the recommended Mazda service schedule even if you’re not performing the work yourself. In the following section, we’ll go over several popular Mazda models and the recommended scheduling times for their most important systems.

MAZDA3 Maintenance Schedule

The Mazda3 allows you to set your oil change monitor to “Flexible” or “Fixed.” Depending on which setting you choose. Flexible allows you to change the oil according to the yellow wrench dash light that surfaces when it’s time for an oil change. If it’s set to Fix, you’ll be alerted to change your oil regularly every six months; hence the term “fixed.” If you normally put higher miles on your vehicle, Flexible may be a better choice.

  • On a “Flexible” Oil Change Monitor Setting: Change the oil when you notice the wrench light is on. The maximum you should go between oil changes is 10,000 miles.
  • On a “Fixed” oil change monitor setting: Change every six months. The air filter should be changed every 30 months, while the cabin filter will make it for two years.
  • Every Year: Inspect disc brakes
  • Every Two Years: Check the brake lines, fuel lines, hoses, fuel hoses, front and rear suspension, steering operation, driveshaft dust boost, and connections. In addition, tighten bolts, nuts, and chassis.
  • Every Three Years: Tightness of drive belt
  • Every Four Years: Inspect all hoses and tubes for any emissions or gas leaks
  • Replace engine coolant at 120,000 miles / 10 years or 60,000 miles / 4 years depending on coolant type. After first replacement, change at 60,000 miles / 5 years and 60,000 miles / 4 years, respectively.
  • Replace spark plugs at 75,000 miles
  • Rotate tires every 5,000 miles or with every oil change

MAZDA CX-9 Maintenance Schedule

A regular Mazda service schedule will ensure your Mazda CX-9 keeps up with other SUVs on the Aliquippa highways.

  • Every Year: Once every year, or 7,500 miles, you should get an oil change, tire rotation, and disc brake inspection.
  • Every Two Years: Every two years, or 15,000 miles, fuel lines, brake lines, and hoses need an inspection. Check your steering operation and linkage, as well as front and rear suspension, and ball joints. It’s not a bad idea to blow dust from the driveshaft.
  • Every Three Years: Every three years or 22,500 miles, you must replace the air filter and inspect the drive belt.
  • Every Four Years: After four years or 30,000 miles, complete all services at 10,000 and 20,000 again, plus inspect hoses and tubes.
  • Every Five Years: Every five years or 37,500 miles is a good time to inspect the exhaust and heat shields.

MAZDA CX-5 Maintenance Schedule

The Mazda CX-5 is quite a bit larger than other Mazda models like the Mazda6, meaning there’s a different set of guidelines regarding its service maintenance.

Normal Driving Conditions:

  • Follow the Mazda6 schedule, with little to no differences, except the following:
  • Replace spark plugs with Skyactiv®-G 2.5T every 40,000 miles, and every 75,000 miles on anything other than Skyactiv®-G 2.5T
